The Consequences of Swine Flu on a Population

Swine flu virus is a contageous disease which needs to be stopped in its tracks.  Why? People will ask this as its become a relatively innocuous flu, they say. However, many others are trying to get this flu. New Yorkers are holding parties trying to catch swine flu!

Why? You may well ask that. The reason is that viruses mutate and in doing so, actually change their DNA  into something which is progressively stronger. The strength of the changes then make it more of a threat to humans.

The flu parties are in an attempt to contract it at an early stage with the belief that having the swine flu early, will actually provide some immunization. At a later stage they see this as being a possible advantage to them.

This is a pig or swine type of flu afterall. Often we use the mutations to our benefit in science. But in this case it isn’t to our advantages and many in the population may catch a strengthened form of swine flu to their peril.
